OKC Roller Derby promotes health, well being, and independence of women through our continued efforts to positively impact our community while setting an example of excellence to all roller derby organizations.

In March 2006 405 Rollergirls dba Tornado Alley Rollergirls was formed by 8 Oklahoma City women. Reagan Kloiber (Suzi Heartbreaker), Amanda Lipscomb (Janes Affliction), Charla Lucero (Demon Doll), Carmen Bryan (Homicide), Natascha Marley (Grimm Hilda), Robyn Webb (Robotron X), Candise Chastka (Johnny Angel), Catherine Leu (Pain Fonda) were the first Tornado Alley Rollergirls. For the last 7 years Tornado Alley Rollergirls have grown and adapted to become the most successful Oklahoma City Roller Derby league in OKC.

March 2006

April 2006

First new recruits join. Practice is held at Miles Rollaway Rink or area parks.

June 2006

First public appearance at Gay Pride Parade.

August 2006

Teams formed, Victory Dolls, Valkyrie Vixens, Cell Block 9, Homewrecking Harlots.

November 2006

Second new recruits join. A warehouse is acquired for practice space.

January 7, 2007

First public bout is held, Derbytaunt Brawl at Rock N Roller Rink in Edmond. 1500 people were introduced to Derby. Hundreds were turned away at the door because the building was at maximum capacity.

January-February, 2007

Third wave of new recruits join.
Roller Derby Saved My Soul by Uncle Leon & The Alibis becomes a favorite song of rollergirls nationwide.

July 14, 2007

Route 66 Rebellion Tournament in Tulsa, OK. River Valley Rollergirls, Northwest Arkansas Rollergirls, ICT/Wichita, KS Rollergirls, Tornado Alley Rollergirls, Green Country Rollergirls.

A majority of Cell Block 9 left the league to form the Red Dirt Rebellion, OKC’s Banked track league.

July 28, 2007

Search for the Rolling Grail 2007 Championship Bout
without Cell Block 9 in the competition the Harlots bouted the Vixens to find which team would don the CB9 colors and bout against the undefeated Victory Dolls. The Vixens earned the honor, and joined the remaining members of CB9 to take on the Victory Dolls.

August 2007

TARG formed two travel teams, the Trailer Thrasher’s consisting of the best of all 4 home teams, and the Trailer Hitches, the ‘b’ team. The warehouse is no longer available for practices. Practice resumes at Mile’s Rollaway Rink.

October 29, 2007

The Victory Dolls split off as a whole team, and become the Oklahoma Victory Dolls. Victory Dolls claimed Miles Rollaway Rink and TARG is again without a practice space.

February 2008

Tornado Alley Rollergirls have a new venue for practices and bouts at the OKC Historic Farmers Market.

March 13, 2008

A new management team is formed and voted in. 405 Rollergirls turns over the league to Oklahoma City Roller Derby, LLC. The trade name Tornado Alley Rollergirls is transferred to OKCRD.

March 3, 2009

New team colors are voted in. Cell Block 9 orange and Valkyrie Vixen blue.

April 5, 2009

TARG logo is established and finalized.

April 19, 2009

First bout with our new team logo and colors

April 27, 2009

OKCRD logo is established and finalized.

October 2010

OKCRD moves to a new practice warehouse, while continuing to play home bouts at the OKC Historic Farmers Market. With the new space and schedule flexibility, the New Recruit program is revamped

November 2010

The Lightning Broads are formed as OKCRD’s new B-team, complete with their own team colors and logo.

March 1, 2011

OKCRD joins the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) as a full member league.
